Since when did a small business start at a turnover of £10m and would be looking to borrow at least £2m. Are these even classed as Medium sized businesses in this struggling market for SME’s? What we need is a fund for businesses with a turnover of £100,000 looking to borrow £10,000 to get down to the real SME’s, or perhaps realistically we need at least a minimum loan size of £100,000 to try to bring in some of those businesses that really want to grow and will employ new staff, perhaps ex public sector staff. If we cannot fund these businesses they will not expand, they will not employ new staff and they will not increase their income and pay more taxes, which would help stimulate economic growth.
