Week 47 2007
21st November 2007
We have reached the conclusion of a fantastic two weeks which has been the culmination of 6 months hard work by all the NACFB staff here in Exeter and supported by two great venues.
For those of you that have read and received my monthly comments, you will be aware that this is the first use of the blog facility on the website. I want to take this opportunity to thank Nikki Cann for the all the hard work over many months that she has put in to reach this stage. Please remember that this is a new site and we expect a few initial problems, in particular with the new Broker search facility, so bear with us and especially Nikki as we iron out all the wrinkles.
But going back to the two great events recently, our Gala Dinner was deemed the best yet and rounded off a busy AGM and a really lively Conference. We have received over 100 e-mails, letters and comments proclaiming what a great day they had at the Celtic Manor. I must confess we had a provisional booking for 2008 to bring the Event back to London, but the ground swell of opinion is dictating that the Celtic Manor was so good, we should return next year. I have a provisional date for there as well now, we will make a decision before the year end.
Our Association has been represented at a number of other events as well from Venice to Coventry. This included the FLA Motor Finance Convention and also the ABFA conference, we have really represented all our Members' interests wherever possible. The other main event was the Mortgage Business Expo, where we had a huge presence this year. We have introduced the NACFB Commercial Zone to the Mortgage Business Expo with its own Seminar Theatre and an NACFB Lounge area. This will continue for Manchester and assume an even bigger part of the London Show next year.
Finally as one industry commentator at the show remarked, “The NACFB (and its members) are represented everywhere throughout the industry now.”
